Forney ISD Announces New Elementary School Principals
The Forney Independent School District recently announced new principals for elementary schools in the District.
The schools that will have new principals beginning with the 2012-2013 school year are Claybon Elementary School, Crosby Elementary School and Smith Elementary School.

Earlier this year, Scott Fisher was named the new principal at Rhea Elementary School. Fisher, the Principal at Claybon Elementary School during the 2011-2012 school year, replaced Cecilia Cosper who retired this year. As a result, the District announced the Kristie Crabtree, currently the Assistant Principal at Claybon Elementary School will be the new Principal at Claybon Elementary School. Crabtree began her teaching career in the Duncanville Independent School District before moving to the Mesquite Independent School District where she taught 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades for eight years. She was a testing coordinator for two years in Mesquite ISD before becoming an Assistant Principal at Austin Elementary School in the Mesquite school district for three years before coming to Forney ISD. She has been the Assistant Principal at Claybon Elementary School for three years. Crosby Elementary School - Jana Garner
Garner has been with the Forney Independent School District for thirty years. She was a classroom teacher and speech therapist for the District for more than twenty years and has been an Assistant Principal at Blackburn Elementary School and, most recently, the Assistant Principal at Lewis Elementary School. Garner received her bachelor’s degree from Baylor University and earned her master’s degree from Texas A&M - Commerce. Smith Elementary School - Dr. Amie Pennington Dr. Pennington was the Assistant Principal at Blackburn Elementary School during the 2011-2012 school year. Prior to moving to Blackburn Elementary School, Dr. Pennington was the Assistant Principal at Lewis Elementary and was named the District’s Assistant Principal of the year in 2010. |
