Library Advisory Committee
The Ellen Brooks West Memorial Library is a joint city/school library governed by the City of Forney and the Forney Independent School District.
The mission of the library is to provide educational experiences available to every student, staff member, and citizen and to assist each in gaining the ability to find, generate, evaluate, and apply information. The library includes in its mission the ability to provide educational and recreational experiences through a variety of media formats. Furthermore, the library exists to promote and further the goals formulated by the Forney ISD and the City of Forney.
The Library Advisory Committee, appointed by the Forney ISD Board of Trustees and the Forney City Council, meets approximately six times per year. The committee participates in planning library policies and services.
Forney ISD is accepting applications from FISD residents who are interested in serving on the Ellen Brooks West Memorial Library Advisory Committee. Applications for appointment consideration are currently being accepted to fill Place One on the Advisory Committee, a term that will begin upon appointment and extend through August 2014.
