Forney ISD Superintendent Michael Holland and Deputy Superintendent Suzanne McWilliams, recently visited every campus in the district and announced the Teachers of the Year for each school.
The Campus Teachers of the Year are nominated by teachers, staff members, parents and other community members who have seen teachers make that extra effort for the students in their classroom.
An Elementary and Secondary District Teacher of the Year will be named from the teachers who were selected as Campus Teachers of the Year. The District Teachers of the Year will be announced on Thursday, May 31, 2012.

1st Grade Teacher "Amber has served as a first grade lead teacher and as a campus mentor teacher for over five years. She has exceptional pedagogical skills with all of the students in her class, enabling each one to achieve success as a learner. She goes above and beyond each day in her own classroom and yet assumes numerous responsibilities willingly for the benefit of all students at Blackburn. Shellie BairdMrs. Hatch brought the Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) to our campus three years ago. The program is designed to increase participation of dads on the campus. It has created a huge, lasting change on our campus. She has also worked closely with our ACE students creating a community of support for them in the 2nd grade. She has also created an end-of-year 'Leopard Bowl' to replace the UIL competition. Mrs. Hatch is such an amazing team player and positively impacts the overall learning environment at Lewis."
