New School Hours for the 2012-2013 School YearBeginning with the 2012-2013 school year, all Forney ISD schools will have new start and end times.
The changes in the school start and end times were made to help the District become more efficient. The District has combined the middle school and high school bus routes for both the morning and afternoon bus runs. To make this possible, the District had to adjust the start and end times at each campus.The adjustment to the start and end times also provides a few more minutes of instruction time at all levels. Below are the new start and end times for all elementary schools, middle schools and high schools in Forney ISD for the 2012-2013 school year. START TIME END TIME ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS - 7:30 a.m. 3:05 p.m. The Forney ISD Board of Trustees approved the school calendar for the 2013-2014 school year during the Board's regular monthly Board meeting on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. The first day of school is set for Monday, Aug. 26, 2013 and the last day of school is on Thursday, June 5, 2014. Click on the link below to view the 2013-2014 school calendar.  As part of the eBook program, Forney ISD offers parents/guardians the opportunity to purchase a third party insurance plan to cover any expenses for damages that may occur to the laptop. The district has partnered with Student Insurance Partners to provide optional insurance coverage for parents to cover the cost of damages on the district issued student laptops. The policy with Student Insurance Partners provides for replacement cost coverage and protects the laptop against accidental damage (drops/spills), theft, vandalism, fire, flood, natural disasters and power surges due to lightning strikes.
